Alphabet for the Soul--Z is for Zealous
Happy Tuesday, friends! I know I'm coming to you on a different day of the week, but I didn't want to share a post on Christmas. Which, brings me to..how was your Christmas? I pray it was a wonderful time of celebrating family and most importantly, our Savior's birth.
Today, we're on the last letter of the Alphabet. I can't believe we are at the end of a year and the end of Alphabet for the Soul. It seems not so long ago we were jumping in with A and now we are on Z.
Years can be like that too. How fast did 2017 go by for you? For me it was a year of glorious blessings along with some very rough valleys. I received a health diagnosis that has really altered my daily routine and the time I'm able to invest in certain areas, but more on that in a separate post, which you can read about tomorrow.
Today, however, we're on the letter Z and for our word I've chosen zealous. I often think zealous gets a negative connotation, but if you are zealous for the right things, you can be nearly unstoppable.
A zealous soul accomplishes more in brief moments than most do in a lifetime.
Think of those who have gone before us. Those who have been zealous for the Lord and who have made great strides in a rather brief period of years. Servants like Jim Elliot, Eric Liddell, and Derrick Bonhoeffer. They died serving God boldly and zealously.
As we enter 2018, let's have souls on fire for the Lord and be men and women of zeal for God.
"Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord." ~Romans 12:11
