Alphabet for the Soul--Y is for Yearn

Happy Monday, friends! I'm so glad you're here. For today's letter, I've chosen the word YEARN. Have you ever yearned for something? I imagine we all have. At this time of year, especially, a lot of kids (and maybe some adults) are yearning for some special Christmas presents. I'm yearning for more of Jesus. God has really been using my health issues to draw me closer into dependance on Him, and while I'd rather not be sick, I'm so very thankful for Him drawing me in even deeper.

Yearn for Jesus today and always.

The thought of yearning for Jesus brings a song to mind for me. Can you tell I'm a fan of music. It speaks to my soul, and when I think of yearning to be closer to Jesus, I think of Oceans (Where Feet May Fail) by Hillsong. If you haven't heart this amazing song, you're missing out.

Can't you just hear the longing in the artist's heart for God? It reminds me of this wonderful verse from Psalms:

"My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God." ~Psalm 84:2

As we draw closer to Christmas, make time to draw closer to Jesus. Yearn for Him and He will answer.
