Monday Cuppa Moment 7/13

Happy Monday! Look at the adorable sign my daughter bought me this week: FullSizeRender

She definitely knows the way to her mom's heart :D

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We spent most of it with our family and loved the joy our grandson always brings. I also started on my novella project. Just in case you missed the announcement on my FB Page, I'm going to share here:

I'm beyond ECSTATIC to announce I'll be doing a novella collection with the amazing Dee Henderson and Lynette Eason called SINS OF THE PAST, which will release May 2016. I'm a so honored and humbled to be able to work on a collection with two women I so greatly admire.

My novella is titled SHADOWED: An Alaskan Courage novel. Yes, that's right. It's part of my Alaskan Courage collection with a twist. Here's a sneak peak:

d3a02bcf86405cc383949b4cd0af1583 Dani Pettrey returns to Yancey, Alaska, introducing readers to the parents of her beloved McKenna clan. Adventure, romance, and danger collide when a young fisherman nets the body of a open water swimming competitor and possible Russian defector. Turning to a college friend of the woman, the two begin to try and solve her death.

What excites or interests you most about the project?

Blessings,

If you've posted a review for Submerged or Shattered (or both!) on GoodReads, Shelfari, Amazon, Facebook, or your blog, I've got a very fun opportunity for you. Find out more, here: http://danipettrey.com/join-team-mckenna/

Today is launch day for Shattered!

After so many months of waiting, I am amazed the day is finally here. Today is Shattered's official release date! Yay!! To celebrate the launch, and give you an inside glimpse of Landon and Piper's world, I've put together a Pinterest board for their story. Click the image below to see the board.

Visit the Shattered Pinterest Board!

You do not need to have an account on Pinterest to view the board, but if you do have a Pinterest account, I'd love if you'd add me as a friend :)  I look forward to seeing your favorite boards and connecting with you.

P.S. Think I've missed something on Landon & Piper's board? Some scene, recipe, or fun photo you think should be included? Post the link in my comments section below. Your suggestion might show up at the top of my Shattered board in the next few weeks!

Blessings,

Favorite Friday--Superhero Movies

I know it's been a while since I've shared a Favorite Friday with you, but today I have a really fun one. We (my family and I) love superhero movies. There's just something about them--action, adventure, fighting for what's right, self-sacrfice, and of course, humor. One of our new favorites is The Avengers. I hope you had the chance to see it on the big screen. It was amazing, But if you didn't, don't fret. It will be available for purchase on September 25th. We can hardly wait! And...it appears that they have a few fun surprises in store for us. Fandango shared this unaired clip on its Movie Blog today. Thought you'd enjoy! Such a love story waiting to be written, or rewritten, here :) Yes, I'm a diehard romantic at heart.

*Spoiler Alert* You may not want to watch if you haven't seen the movie yet.  Here's another clip from The Avengers for you to enjoy, and our absolute favorite part in the entire movie.

What other superhero movies do we enjoy? I'm glad you asked.

  • Thor
  • Iron Man 1 & 2
  • Fantastic Four and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
  • Captain America (huge fan of Chris Evans--he is who I envision Gage McKenna from my Alaskan Courage series looking like).

Not too shabby, huh? :)

  • Sky High (yes, not your traditional superhero movie, but so much fun and the same principles exist--the underdog overcoming and justice prevailing).
  • Spiderman 1-3 (with Tobey MacGuire)
  • The Amazing Spiderman
  • Batman Begins and  The Dark Knight--which is a little scary for me in all honesty. Haven't seen Dark Knight Rises yet, but plan to. My daughters have seen it and enjoyed it.
  • The Incredible Hulk (with Ed Norton).
  • X-men and X-Men 2 (not a fan of the rest).
  • The Incredibles (yes, it's animated, but it's fabulous).
  • Underdog (a little cheesy in parts, but really funny).

Hope you have a superhero kind of day!
