A Heritage of History and Hope for the Future

I may write contemporary fiction, but I love history. I even try to weave into some of the stories I write. My debut novel, Submerged, focuses on Russian-Alaskan history, while Cold Shot is primarily set at Gettysburg National Park.

While researching Submerged was fun, researching the military history of Gettysburg resonated far more with me.

I’ve always had a profound respect and gratitude for our soldiers. I think because of my family’s service history. I’m a direct descendent of Revolutionary War veteran, Daniel Leasure, making us proud Daughters of the American Revolution members.

Between my family and my husband’s, we had relatives serve in the War of 1812, the Civil War, WW I, WWII, Vietnam, the Cold War and Persian Gulf.

This military history, my husband’s service in the Navy included, has fostered a deep appreciation for all soldiers and their families. It’s why we support Black Rifle Coffee by being members of their Coffee Club.

Black Rifle is veteran-owned and operated. They support veterans, police officers, and first responders. With every purchase we make, they give back, giving hope to veterans for the future and supporting them in the trenches through programs such as Buy a Bag, Give a Bag. Not to mention, as you can see by their packaging, they take their coffee as seriously as we do.

Black Rifle Coffee Company is quite literally the combination of my two favorite passions. I take pride in the coffee we roast, the veterans we employ, and the causes we support.
