Monday Cuppa--Change Your Latitude

Happy Monday, friends! Asking me if I like coffee

I hope you've enjoyed your morning cuppa. I'm already a few in as it's deadline week for me, so it's my last run through before I send the rough draft of book 3 in my Chesapeake Valor series off to my publisher. Deadline week involves a lot of coffee, chocolate and perseverance. Speaking of perseverance, I can't imagine participating in the following open water swimming race, but I'd sure love to watch it.

Change Your Latitude 57° N is an open water swimming race in Alaska where the McKennas live, and it is one of the northernmost open ocean races in the world.

It is a combined 10k (6.2 miles)/6K (4.1 miles)/3k (2 miles)/1k open water swim in the beautiful Sitka Sound with water temperatures in the mid-50’s. Brrr.

The swim begins at the U.S. Coast Guard gazebo on Japonski Island, and then the swimmers head north out of Sitka Channel, across Whiting Harbor with a turn buoy to bring swimmers around Battery Island.

I could easily see Libby McKenna participating in this race, how about you?
